During Pat’s career he became increasingly frustrated by the traditional silos that defined the marketing landscape. Advertising agencies could only offer a solution with advertising. Public relations firms could only draw from a selection of media relations techniques.

Driven by a desire to find a better way, Patrick founded Strother Communications Group (SCG) in 1992 based on the then-groundbreaking platform of integrated communications. Armed with a full complement of public relations, design and advertising practitioners, the firm began executing highly-effective communications that was no longer constrained by the traditional silos but instead was inspired by creativity, reaching the right target audience with the best mix of tactics. The firm soon added web-based solutions including web sites and e-mail campaigns.

SCG’s early integrated model continues to evolve and develop. Today Pat has led the firm to embrace a convergence model which defines the brand based on a foundation of research and then supports the brand through a selection of public relations, advertising, direct marketing, web solutions, sales support and a contact center.
